about the artist
I draw people in rooms - a woman with a cat, two figures at rest, someone leaning back beneath a hat. Drawing from life is the closest looking I know: a kind of literacy, learning to read a shoulder or a turned back until a single line can carry it. Trained in design at Art Center, I keep returning to the figure. These works ask a quiet question ā what makes us human.
